Dr. Schenk has been practicing as an internal medicine physician in Maine since 2005. He is a graduate of Ohio University with degrees in medicine and electrical engineering. His interest in medicine was peaked while doing graduate research related to brain waves. He completed his internal medicine residency at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY. 

In addition to his career in medicine, Dr.. Schenk’s interests include travel, fly fishing, building fly rods and making flies, bass fishing, kayaking, gourmet cooking and canine obedience training. He has written a book about hiking with your dog in Acadia National Park titled "Canine Hiking in Acadia National Park."
